“We just returned from a very enjoyable trip to NYC and the highlight by far was eating at Monte’s and @ Villa Mosconi on MacDougal St-we finally found the eating experience we dreamed of but never thought we would find.Besides superb dining we were treated like old friends by Pietro.He suggested I try the Lasagna and I trusted him although I normally would never order such an”ordinary” dish-his version was anything but ordinary,in fact the flavors could only be described as pure and authenically genuine homestyle northern Italian cooking like Pietro’s mother must have made.We loved every morsel and if we ever get back to NYC we would go back just to eat here every day of the vacation”

“We celebrated our 28th Anniversary dinner here on Sept. 26th. It was the most wonderful dining experience we have ever had. We LOVED the food, the atmosphere, the wine and we were made to feel as though we were family! It would be worth another flight to NYC just to have dinner there again!!!! “We stumbled on this great find when we came to NYC to visit the master’s show at the salmagundi club. after walking around the village reading menus, we settled on monte’s. it was christine’s birthday and 3 pm found us with the entire restaurant to ourselves. not only was the food exceptional, but pietro made a delicious zabaglione with fresh raspberries at our table for dessert. having lived in italy back in the 70′s, we talked about pop music and we were accommodated with italian music as we dined. we are returning to NYC in july and look forward to visiting pietro and monte’s again!”

“I was ‘introduced’ to this restaurant while on a food tour the first time I went to New York City. I went back for dinner with my sister and it was amazing. Pietro talked to me for about three hours and I was able to take a picture with him. Now everytime I go, I take a picture with Pietro and we talk about food. He always remembers me, as the Canadian girl and everytime I go back I show him the collection of pictures I have of the both of us in my kitchen. I love Monte’s and I would eat there every night if I lived in New York.”

“Being born and raised in NY, I was saddened that I had never eaten at Monte’s only to experience it on a business trip last November. My sister and brother-in-law made sure to make it over to your restaurant this week while vacationing from Brazil.
